Health Information Technology: The Savior of our Healthcare System, or the Nightmare for Physicians?  
Purpose:The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and competency or performance of the practitioner in the familiarity and implementation of Health Information Technology (HIT) in their everyday practice.
Objectives:Upon completion of this presentation, the participants will be able to do the following:
  1. Review HIT concepts.
  2. Review and describe new regulations at the federal level and how this will affect the practice of medicine.
  3. Generate positive attitude towards HIT.
  4. Evaluate and select funtionality of HIT systems.
  5. Plan for HIT implmentation.
