Update on the Treatment of Chronic Gout   
Purpose:To improve the knowledge and competency of the practitioner regarding the increasing prevalence of gout and the traditional and emerging treatment options.
Objectives:Upon completion of this presentation, the participants will be able to do the following:
  1. Recognize the impact of gout and its complications.
  2. Define the treatment challenges in managing patients with gout, including the different challenges physicians face when treating young versus elderly patients.
  3. Evaluate current therapeutic and new options and their benefits and limitations for managing patients with gout in order to narrow the practice gaps.
